Integrating classical texts, advanced practice, exercise science and mental training.
Department of Yoga & Physical Culture - II
The Department of Yoga & Physical Culture - II advances both textual understanding and practical competence. The department covers the detailed study of the Samadhi and Sadhana Padas of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, an overview of Vibhuti and Kaivalya Padas, and study of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika with reference to other classical texts. Students examine psychic physiology, chakras, nadis, swara yoga and the physiological aspects of asana and exercise. The physical-culture component covers isotonic and isometric exercise, stretching, walking, running, cycling, posture and fitness across age groups. Practical training includes advanced postures, pranayama, cleansing practices, meditation, yoga nidra and structured techniques such as SMET, PET and MSRT. Safety, progression and teaching clarity remain central.
