Department of Yoga Therapy

The Department of Yoga Therapy translates earlier study of yoga philosophy and physical culture into supervised therapeutic application. The syllabus introduces the basis of yogic therapy, the role of general exercise and research methods, followed by yoga approaches for cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, metabolic, hormonal, neuromuscular, psychosomatic, paediatric, ENT, ophthalmological and women’s-health conditions. Students study meditation, yoga nidra, Quick, Instant and Deep Relaxation Techniques, stress management, mental health, applied psychology, teaching methods, lesson planning, workshops and dissertation work. The department emphasises assessment, contraindications, adaptation, outcome documentation and coordination with medical care, especially for serious physical or psychiatric illness.
